Isabelle is a Labrador Retriever. She is five years old but seems so much younger! She loves treats, any kind but especially the beef flavored rawhides. She loves to hang out with the Bay Area Staff up at the front desk. She's always so happy to be up there; so happy she carries her rawhide around with her. Isabelle loves to show how she knows how to sit and shake. If you sit down with her, she'll lie down and chew her bone. She loves all kinds of scratching and loving. Isabelle is very smart and needs security. She'll learn quickly with treats and someone she can trust.

Autumn is a two year old orange and tan torbie full of love and kindness! She is a delightful little cat that’s looking for someone special to give her attention and a loving home. Autumn loves to purr and give hugs. In her spare time she naps and hunts toy mice. So if you’re looking for a precious kitty and someone to finally hunt down all those toy mice, Autumn is your girl.

Lotus is full of love and energy! He is a black Labrador with a little bit of German shepherd. He is intelligent, active and would make a great family pet. Lotus can also be very affectionate and gentle. He’s the type of dog that would love to be a hunting buddy, or play Frisbee anytime. Mrs. Hoot is an adult female cat that is a short hair Torbie with bits of orange and brown. She is 2 years young with beautiful green eyes. She was surrendered by her owner but is hanging out at the Bay Area Humane Society healthy and ready to be adopted. (She believes in love at first sight.) She is a real sweetheart; she is gentle and loves to be cuddled. She is missing her back left leg but that not what she’s missing; she’s looking for someone to love her as much as she’ll love you! She misses having someone to cozy up to. Her sweet personality and soft purrs will have you loving her as first sight too.

Avery is a 9 month old Plott Hound mix, a handsome brindle over white with sparkly eyes and personality to match! She was originally found stray and adopted once from the shelter, but her enthusiasm about her new home was a little too much for the person who adopted her and she is back … looking for someone who understands “puppy love” and is willing to make a commitment to training her to be a good dog!

This is Anne. Anne is an All-American mutt. We’re guessing something like basset hound / terrier mix? She’s not too big, not too small … she is sweet and loves everyone, equally happy to go on a nice walk or take a nice nap. This is Anne’s second time around in a shelter. When she was younger, she found herself homeless but got adopted and lived with a nice man and two kids until they also lost their home and had to move someplace where dogs weren’t allowed. So here Anne is again, this time she is 9 years old and not as silly or fluffy as some of the other young pups here. In fact, even though 9 isn’t really all that old, Anne’s got a bit of arthritis that forces her to take things a little slower. But her heart is still just as golden as her pretty coat, and she still wants to check things out and enjoy sunshine and belly rubs. It’s just no fun doing any of that stuff alone. For a while there was a beagle here that shared Anne’s kennel but the lucky beagle got adopted. If you too have lonely spots in your days, please make this Anne’s lucky day and become her best buddy.

HOLY BUDGIES BATMAN!
Been thinking about adopting a budgie as a new buddy? The Bay Area Humane Society accepted over twenty beautiful budgies this week from a home that just loved each and every one of them, but unfortunately their caretaker passed away. Budgies (aka parakeets) have beautiful voices – not as loud as parrots and many larger birds. They can be very friendly and affectionate if given lots of patience and attention – they can learn tricks and to mimic speech with enough of both!

Kristo is a very strong and muscular guy with a feisty personality! Always ready to lunge and leap at any feather or string you want to shake! Kristo has a hearty appetite, and would love for someone to take him home who's ready to dine him like the king that he is! He is appreciative of all his loyal servants, and will reward you with purrs and an occasional kiss!
